The Rotary Club of Lethbridge

Request for Proposals:  Rotary Community Service Grant

The Rotary Club of Lethbridge is a 125-member service club committed to service both locally and internationally.  Each year the Club contributes funds to not-for-profit community service groups to help them achieve their goals.  The level of funding available could vary for these projects between a minimum of $100 to a maximum of $4000 and will depend on the success of our various fund-raising initiatives.

When applying for a Rotary Community Service Grant, please include the following information:

1.         Description of the organization or group requesting funding.  Explain how the organization is funded and administered.

2.         Description of the project:

Ø      Nature of the project.

Ø      Who will benefit?

Ø      When will the project proceed?

Ø      Anticipated involvement by the proponent and by Rotarians (if any) in carrying out the project.

Ø      Estimated total project cost and identify sources of the funding.

Ø      How will Rotary’s contribution to the project be recognized?

Proposals for the Rotary Community Service Grant should not exceed 2 pages.  A Committee will be reviewing the proposals and it is anticipated that final decisions will be made by May 15, 2008.

The Rotary Community Service Grant Guidelines are as follows:

  1. Priority will be given to not for profit groups that affect AS MANY people in the community as possible.

  1. Priority will be given to not for profit groups that will provide a legacy for this funding rather than a one-time activity.

  1. This grant should not be given for the on-going operational expenses of any organization.

  1. Priority will be given to not for profit groups that will raise the awareness of the Lethbridge Rotary.  (i.e. Rotary’s name either embossed or advertised)

  1. Priority will be given to not for profit groups that have minimal or no other sources of funding to support the project.

  1. Preference for funding will be given to local not for profit groups in Lethbridge; however not LIMITED to.
