The Education of Chiaki:
While schools are closed during the labour dispute, Chiaki has some extra time on her hands. So, if you are taking a field trip (like, for instance, to go skiing), give Chiaki a call, 381-2701. You might want to invite Chiaki to spend a day with you at work; now, that would be an education!
Fundraising:
If you are interested in participating in the planning of the "Live Free for a Year" project, please join Lorne Armstrong, Chair of the Committee, for lunch at the Regent, Thursday, February 7, 12:00 noon. He wants a bit of your time to explain the project and to recruit 10 - 12 volunteers. Call Lorne 382-3496.
District Conference:
Dick Turner tells us that there is a Home Hospitality program on Friday evening before the conference (April 19). Members of the Calgary Downtown club will invite out-of-town Rotarians into their homes for fun and fellowship. Dick has registration forms with all the details.
History in the Making:
This was a historic meeting for the Club. It was the first time that a woman has served as Sergeant at Arms. Remember the name Connie Lyon! Congratulations on a historical performance.
Speaking of Historical:
Glen Habkirk spoke to the Club about his two weeks at Ground Zero in New York City. He told us about the little acts of kindness in the midst of a horrific experience. A kind and generous man.
