Subject: Holiday greetings!

During these winter holidays the Yelizovo Rotary Club remembers friends
like you who have been a part of our lives. We recall each of you and the
helping hands you've lended, the laughs we've shared when you've visited
us, and the moments of inspiration we've felt when we've realized the
strength of working together. This year, we offer you the wish of feel
peace, health, and happiness. We hope that the coming year will bring all
of us greater understanding of others, and the chance to continue to share
the best that Rotary has to offer...friendship, service, and good will
toward all.

With joy and hope for a Happy New Year!

Yelizovo Rotary Club

Rotary Foundation:
Peter Green and his committee have planned a fine social evening for February 12, 2002, at the Lodge. Dinner will be a special treat. Price $40; tax receipt for $10. Limit of 150. Spouses and friends are welcome. Please be prepared to sign up next week.

Group Study Exchange:
The group from Korea will be in Alberta in April and will visit our area for 2 days. The group will include professionals in police service, television, newspaper and county government. Ian Cameron has volunteered to develop an agenda for their visit. If you are interested in having the group visit your place of business, please contact Ian.

Fundraising:
Bruce reported on two changes to fundraising activities. The Club will not conduct the Ag-Expo raffle in the future. In its place, we are adding a new event, tentatively called "Live Free for a Year", which will require 3 - 4 volunteers. Lorne Armstrong will chair the Committee.

Membership:
Marlin reported on a special District contest to boost Rotary membership. Remember the District objective: one new member per club per month. Get out there and recruit!

Speaking of New Members:
Stephanie Salonen, our newest new member, was introduced by Ellie Peters and inducted by President Dave in the Financial Services category. Welcome, Stephanie!

And More About New Members:
Geri Hecker and Kendall Gibson gave their vocational talks. Interesting lives, to say the least! Thanks, Geri and Kendall.

Thanks!
The Club has received several expressions of gratitude for the great Senior's Christmas Dinner event held in partnership with the Lodge. Dallas thanked all the volunteers for helping to make it a success.

Chiaki
Reported on her trip to Victoria to play basketball (and to enjoy some fine dining). You can reach Chiaki at 381-2701
